ASHES
I often receive calls from people who during there daily lives have no real connection with the sea and don’t know ware to turn or who to ask to start looking for a skipper with a boat who could help arrange a loved one’s last wish to scatter there ashes at sea, for many people this is an emotional time and I understand the complications involved,
over the years I have provided this service many times for lots of families and thought it was high time I should broadcast this subject and let people know that this service is available to everyone not just those who live near the sea.
Normally during the day 7am-5pm I will be going about my usual job of taking anglers fishing but this is not always the case, at weekends I am at my busiest during the summer, midweek is usually less so, and after the days work and after a quick clean round this is the best time for me,
This is how it has worked in the past
After we have you all safely on board depart Whitby at a pre arranged time and head out to sea usually a mile or two, I then retreat into my wheel house and close the door leaving you all the time you need and in complete privacy out on deck, and only when you and tour group are happy to return back someone gives me the nod and we set back to Whitby the whole operation usually lasts no more than one hour but this service is not governed by time you will get as much time as you need to scatter and throw your flowers and say your goodbye’s in peace,
Now the delicate part there is a charge for this service the cost for me and the boat for up to 12 passengers is £60 on occasions some choose to give more which I donate to the local Whitby life boat station who give the whole town and all it’s visitors a fantastic free emergansie service
Give me a call on 07855439380 anytime or email me with your questions the boat is licensed to carry 12 passengers but in the past I have taken as little as one person out,
It’s no problem to me if you want or prefer me to scatter them on your behalf if you don’t particularly like the sea, honestly nothing is too much trouble just give me a call.
Mick.
