If you don't have your own tackle you can hire mine all my fishing tackle is top quality, Penn senator multiplying reels and balanced light weight rods, Beware of free fishing tackle offers it's usually old rubbish, MY HIRE TACKLE IS THE BEST you may only come sea fishing once a year so don't spoil your day for the sake of a £5 hire charge

The sea urchin has more deck space than just about any other Whitby charter boat of it's size, your numbered fish boxes are secured in racks under the fillet and bait station built as an island wheelhouse (giving more space on the foredeck when conditions allow) hot drinks available

Winter uptide festival 2009

  After the success of last years winter uptiding festival, the Whitby Charter Skippers Association will be running another event this year during late November and early December. This years week long uptiding festival will run from 30th November to 6th December. Glenn Stocks and Stagecoach Super tram from Sheffield will again the main sponsor of the event and the prizes will be £1000 for the heaviest single cod, £300 for second heaviest cod and £200 for 3rd heaviest cod. There will also be a prize of £100 for the heaviest fish of any other species.

Last years winter festival was a huge success, with all the boats full over the whole weekend of the 3 day event. There was lots of fish weighed in on the sea urchin with a good few daily prize winners and as always it was great to see everyone in the Fleece pub after the match for a get together.” – “Given the success of lasts years festival we have now extended this years event to take place over a full week. there are lots of days available on the sea urchin 2 with weekend space as well,  bookings are coming in steady now so please book up a.s.a.p to save disappointment
