THE HIRE TACKLE
All my fishing tackle is replaced each year and of the highest quality, Penn boat reels and light weight Fladden rods, beware of free fishing tackle offers, it's impossible or complete rubbish, with eyes missing and wobbly stiff heavy old fashioned reels with line full of knots and joins, my tackle is the best guaranteed

WHITBY WHALE WATCHING TRIPS

minke   23      imageswe

During the late summer months the Yorkshire coast welcomes shoals of herring and mackerel, which in turn are accompanied by minke whales and basking shark, and when conditions are good I intend to organise pleasure trips for enthusiastic wildlife watchers, these trips will usually be in the early evening as this is the time the herring shoals rise to the surface and the whales can be seen feeding more frequently, often while out on fishing trips we are surrounded by as many as four or five minke whales so I am able to direct the boat strait to the whale’s in the evening,

The way I intend to organise this is to ask people to leave there name and number on this site via the interactive news page, and when I have a positive sighting  I will invite  people off the list to join the next trip, this way you stand a much greater chance of actually seeing whales and not just drifting around on the off chance, duration will vary but 2/3 hours will be the average trip, the cost will be £20 per person remember the trips will only happen when I have seen the whales myself

These trips are not pot luck searches, so you will need to come at short notice

the sighting are most likely during  late August/ September/early Nov

I will keep you informed of any recent sightings via my news page

So if interested leave your telephone or email number so I can alert you when the whales arrive,  however 2009 was a poor  year for whales off Whitby and many people left there contact details with me so I haven’t forgot you all lets hope the whales make a better show this year

Mick the skipper.

We would like to go whale watching. We would be a party of 6-10 people with children ranging from 5-10 years old. Is that something you could accomodate for?

Please let me know when you have a positive siting. The local paper in Scarborough today reports large mackrel shoals so fingers crossed. I only live 20 miles away so short notice is fine.
